The firing order for a 1997 Olds Aurora is 1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8. The cylinders by the firewall are 1-3-5-7 and the cylinders in the front are 2-4-6-8. The coil packs are numbered in the order left to right: 6-7-4-1-8-3-2-5
The Olds Aurora has the starter sitting inside of the engine. You'll need to take off the intake manifold to get to it, and even then its a tight squeeze. Once you get the intake manifold off it will be highly visible.
Go to your public library--go to the automotive manuals section --search for the manual containing electrical manual for domestic cars for 1995--find the section for the aurora and it will give you that info.
