You will need a hex key to remove the brake caliper on an '05 Navigator. There will be two bolts that need to be taken off with the hex key.
there is no special tool to remove them but one is needed to compress them to get them back on for the rear.
Proper Torx bit or wrench for caliper C-Clamp to retract piston to get it off the disc
a brake caliper tool (really)
9mm hex key front and 7mm rear
I use a large C- clamp and have had good results doing so.
you can get the tool that removes the rear calipers from any autozone or advance auto parts. they rent it to you and you leave a deposit. the tool is designed to turn the caliper as it is being pushed in. if this tool is not used the caliper will fail.
Remove wheels Remove caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor Fully retract piston into caliper body ( a special tool is needed) piston is threaded to operate parking brake. Tool is not expensive and available at Sears or auto parts Replace inner and outer pads Re-Install caliper PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SET PADS AGAINST ROTOR PRIOR TO MOVING VEHICLE

I just did a brake job on a 2001 intrepid. All I used was a standard 10mm socket. I got the whole job done in about an hour and a half (did all 4 wheels).
You would need a T40 Torx Bit to remover the caliper pins.
Remove wheels Re-install 2 lug nuts to hold rotor in place Remove caliper mounting bolts Slide caliper off rotor A special tool is needed to retract piston into caliper body they are threaded Tool not expensive available at Sears or auto parts store After piston retracted replace inner and outer pads Re-install caliper PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SET PADS AGAINST ROTOR PRIOR TO MOVING VEHICLE
There are different tools for different calipers. Need to know what year, make and model you have and if you are removing a front or rear caliper.
