What best describes the cells of unitary smooth muscle?

Smooth muscle is the involuntarily controlled muscle. In unitary smooth muscle, the cells are connected by gap junctions and are controlled by the autonomic nervous system and hormones.

Can dielectric grease be used on the contact point of a light bulb socket?

No, that would not be proper. The contact point of a light bulb socket has no need of any coating. A light bulb socket that is difficult to turn a bulb in will benefit from some light oil on the bulb threads prior to installing. Dielectric grease will harden, and is meant to insulate and protect electrical junctions from exposure and vibration.

Are the speed cameras on m20 in use?

If your referring to the ones coastbound between junctions 4 and 7 then I believe they are active....... I drove to work on Saturday morning (26th September) and saw someone get flashed twice by the last camera. This was at about 7:30am, I'm not sure if they are active 24 hours a day but would like to know as I went through them the night before doing a speed I'd rather not talk about!! There was a website run by kent police or kent county council that told you about each speed camera in the county, what the speed limit is and why the camera was put there..... Hope this helps!

What is the function of the car engine head?

The engine head is physically mounted on top of the engine block and is capped by the valve cover (which usually has the car manufacture's name on it). you can also find it by tracing the exhaust pipe to the engine. it does several major things: 1) it houses the valve assemblies for allowing intake of gas mixture and exhaust of combusted mixture 2) houses the spark plugs for combustion 2) will almost always house the cam shaft/s (unless its a push rod engine) 3) provide bearing surface for cam lifters 4) provide junctions for intake manifold and exhaust manifold 5) continues coolant route throughout the engine hope this helps!

Hook up tailer wiring harness for Chevy s10 1999 The ones I have gotten from the parts store blows fuses?

Sounds like the problem is with the trailer itself. Either it is wired incorrectly, or a wire has shorted against the frame. If the fuse only blows after a while, a bare wire is probably rubbing the frame occasionally. This will be hard to test for, but you could get under the trailer and look at or feel the insulation, look for pinch points, and check the wiring in the lights and at any junctions. If the fuse blows immediately, use a multimeter to find one or more pairs of wires with almost 0 resistance. Remember that 12V trailer lights don't have much resistance - look for the combination of wires with the lowest resistance and start there. Also remember to check from each wire to the frame of the trailer. Your attachment point on the trailer should be either bare metal, or a bolt that isn't rusty. Paint and rust will act as insulation.

Antibodies attack neuromuscular junctions in what?

Myasthenia gravis is a neuromuscular disease involving antibodies against the postsynaptic acetylcholine receptors.Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome is another type of neuromuscular disease involving antibodies against the presynaptic voltage-gated calcium channels. Both diseases involve weakness with activity and are diagnosed by electrodiagnostic testing and other laboratory testing.

What is the neurotransmitter at the neuromuscular junctions?

acetylecholine

What type of muscle tissue has neuromuscular junctions?

What is an agrin?

An agrin is a protein involved in the neuromuscular junctions during embryonic development.

What are axon terminal clusters at the ends of neuromuscular junctions called?

Axon terminal clusters at the ends of neuromuscular junctions are called motor endplates. They are specialized structures where motor neurons communicate with muscle fibers to initiate muscle contractions.

Which of these junctions represents the connection between the tip of a neuron and a skeletal muscle cell from which Acetylcholine diffuses?

Neuromuscular

The sites where a chemical substance is transmitted from the presynaptic terminal of an axon to the postsynaptic membrane of a muscle fiber are called?

The sites where a chemical substance is transmitted from the presynaptic terminal of an axon to the postsynaptic membrane of a muscle fiber are called neuromuscular junctions. At these junctions, the neurotransmitter acetylcholine is released from the presynaptic terminal and binds to receptors on the postsynaptic membrane, initiating muscle contraction.

What has the author Rene C Prashad written?

Rene C. Prashad has written: 'Analysis of exocytotic protein localization in presynaptic terminals at crayfish neuromuscular junctions'

What is the transmission of the stimulus at the neuromuscular junctions involves?

The transmission of the stimulus at the neuromuscular junction involves the release of acetylcholine from the motor neuron, binding to acetylcholine receptors on the muscle cell membrane, causing depolarization of the muscle cell, and ultimately leading to muscle contraction.

A 36 year old woman has a disease that affects the levels of acetylcholine in her synapses and neuromuscular junctions What is a potential consequence of this disease?

abnormal conduction of signals from neurons to muscles

How do you neurons stay in place?

Neurons transmit signals to one another via synapses. Considering there are gaps at the synapse, how do these neurons stay in place? Same for neuromuscular junctions.
