Can anyone tell you why your 91 Buick Lesabre dies shortly after starting it?

Does it die when you let off gas (@ redlights ect.)? Is chk eng light on? If chk eng light on take to Auto Zone & they may have OLDER comp (some only have `96 or newer) and check for FREE. Had same prob w/ `90 computer found it was cam sensor. If no light chk local Buick dealer PARTS department some are helpful (FREE) some are not ($) but any should be helpful. My son had that problem with his '91 & it turned out to be crankshaft sensor.

∙ 12y agoCheck your coil packs and module under it. There are mainly 2 different motor styles for this. One has 3 different round coils that are numbered one through six. The other is a black box. All six distributer wires run to this (This car does not have a distributer cap). You can also check the timing chain, Main fuse boxes (underneith hood), crank and cam sensor (Behind Harmonic balancer). The ignition switch(under steering wheel)or ignition itself. Also caution because the fuel pump can trick you also. It can get hot shut off then cut back on when its cold. Check and change all of this!!!

If the signal light fuse is blown all the signal lights front and rear would not work. If you have one signal light out I would first suspect a bad bulb or bad connection.

Replace the relay/ When the AC Module goes bad , it goes 2 ground & makes the circuit for the fan-causing the fan 2 run ALL the time-REGUARDLESS of the key in the switch or not-& is usally mounted on the evaporator case inside the car on the Passenger side-just under the lower dash panel. Replace the fan control module. Sold a lot of them as a parts salesman at a buick dealership, relays and the fan module ar located on the passenger side of the blower motor under the hood, been there done that!
