On Dodge Neon you turn the ignition key 3 times (without going as far as turning the engine on). Maybe samne on many if not all cars? Then the codes will blink and you'll need the ODB2 code listing. Other option is to connect an ODB2 reader on the car's connector and read the codes directly.

∙ 16y agopretty much that engine light came one for what they call a problem code which says that there is a problem somewhere, usually those codes are stored in the cars computer system. The only way to get these codes out is using a digital scanner tool mostly shop owners have these things but if you look online or in a auto store they might sell one these tools.
