A drive belt will go around the pulley on the alternator . If you have a
serpentine belt it will drive all the accessories attached to the engine .
Alternator , Power Steering pump , air conditioning compressor etc .

It depends on what model you have, but most are the same.Disconnect the battery! Loosen the tensioner for the serpentine belt and pull the belt off the alternator pulley. Remove the bolt holding the alternator at the 4:00 o'clock positionRemove the nut at the right rear side of the alternatorRemove the bolt at the next to it nearer you. All bolts have 15mm heads, but you're going to need a deep well socket to get the nut off. Pull out the alternator and remove the plug from it and also remove the red wire attached to the back. You're going to need a 13mm socket and a 13mm flat wrench. Replace the alternator by reversing the steps above. Reattaching the serpentine belt is a pain.
Use the spacers to change the pulley configuration. The alternator pulley halves separates when you remove the large retaining nut at the center. More spacers between the pulley halves loosens the belt. Fewer spacers between the pulley halves TIGHTEN the belt. Keep the extra spacers under the large washer so you'll have them to adjust the NEXT belt.
There are two bolts one is visible on the front and one on the rear. There is a nut on the right side next to the ground on the alternator. once it, the ground, and the molex plug are removed it pops right out. One key thing to remember when putting it back on is to be sure to put the belt on before you put the bolts back in, or you have to mess with the tension pulley.
1. Loosen the tension belt. There should be a sticker on the front of the engine area telling you how. 2. Remove the 3 bolts holding the alternator to the engine block. 3. Disconnect electrical wires. 4. Replace the old alternator with the new part. 5. Reconnect electrical wires. 6. Replace 3 bolts. 7. Replace serpentine belt.
To change the alternator on a 1991 Chrysler 5th Avenue, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner and sliding the belt off the alternator pulley. Next, unbolt the alternator from its mounting bracket, disconnect the electrical connectors, and remove the old alternator. Finally, install the new alternator by reversing the steps, ensuring all connections are secure, and reattach the drive belt.
To change the alternator pulley on a Renault Scenic, first, disconnect the battery and remove the drive belt. Next, remove the alternator from its mounting by loosening the bolts and carefully extracting it. Use a pulley removal tool to unscrew the old pulley from the alternator shaft, then screw on the new pulley, ensuring it's secure. Reinstall the alternator, reattach the drive belt, and reconnect the battery to complete the process.
To remove the alternator from a Peugeot 306, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts. Then, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner and sliding the belt off the alternator pulley. Next, unbolt the alternator from its mounting bracket and carefully disconnect the electrical connections. Finally, lift the alternator out of the engine bay.
To change the alternator belt on a 1998 Mazda 626 you need to first loosen the bolt that is located in the center of the adjustment pulley. Next, turn the adjustment bolt to the left until the belt is loose and can be removed. Reverse the steps to replace with the new belt.
The fuel pump is the injection pump located next to the alternator and is run by the timing belt.
Loosen the serpentine belt by removing one bolt and loosening the other on the belt tensioner located in the top middle of the belt position. Remove the serpentine belt from the alternator. Next remove the 3 bolts holding in the alternator and unplug the wiring harness attached. The alternator should now be able to come free with a little coaxing depending on its condition. Repeat in backwards order when installing a new alternator.
To remove the alternator from a 1986 Toyota Cressida, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock. Then, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner and sliding the belt off the alternator pulley. Next, disconnect the electrical connections from the alternator and remove the mounting bolts securing it in place. Finally, pull the alternator out of the engine bay.
It is right next to the power steering belt, by the oil filter.
To remove the alternator from a 1989 Honda Accord with fuel injection, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner and sliding the belt off the alternator pulley. Next, unbolt the alternator from its mounting bracket and disconnect the electrical connectors. Finally, carefully remove the alternator from the engine bay.
To remove the alternator from a Citroën Xsara, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Then, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner and sliding it off the alternator pulley. Next, disconnect the electrical connections from the alternator, followed by unbolting the alternator from its mounting bracket. Finally, carefully lift the alternator out of the engine bay.
To remove the alternator on a 1995 Toyota pickup with a 22R engine, first, disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, loosen the alternator adjustment bolt and the pivot bolt to relieve tension on the drive belt, and remove the belt from the alternator pulley. Next, disconnect the electrical connectors and the battery wire from the alternator, and finally, remove the alternator from its mounting bracket. Reinstallation follows the reverse order of removal.
To replace the alternator on a Hyster 1500, first, disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner and take note of the belt routing. Next, disconnect the wiring harness and any mounting bolts securing the alternator, then carefully remove the old alternator. Install the new alternator by reversing the removal steps, ensuring all connections are secure before reattaching the battery.
