Check to see if any of the codes came back. Typically, if something is wrong that caused a code, it won't go away until the problem is resolved.

The sensor is down on the front of the oil pan just behind the crankshaft pully, which is located at the front of the engine.
The starter is definitely under the hood. Try getting under and looking where the engine is bolted to the transmission. It will be right there.

First, you have to find out why it's on, repair the problem, then the computer will often reset itself. If it doesn't, you may need to connect an onboard diagnostic scanner. Just unhook the battery for a few mins... and it will go off if the problem is fixed
