Your car requires three things to run. Air, fuel, and a spark. So the most logical way to figure it out is make sure it is getting all three. The actual method you choose can be dependent on the car you have. For instance, some cars have a fitting on the fuel rail to check for fuel pressure with a gauge.
Cars don't start for a variety of reasons. Does it make a sound at all? If not your battery might be dead. Get some help jump starting it, unless it is a hybrid. If it makes a grinding sound it could be the starter or the alternator. Take it to a mechanic.
Well, you have to find out why it died. Do you mean it quit running or wouldn't start? If it quit running then you have to find out why. Was it from a lack of fuel or lack of spark? Did you run out of fuel, or is the fuel filter clogged, or fuel pump not running? If it wouldn't start either the battery is defective, or the starter, or ignition switch. Possibly a main fuse is blown. It can be many, many things.
Probably old or defective ignition wiring. Replace spark plug and distributor wires.
i would replace the distributor cap it is probly cracked
A good squirt of WD40 or similar over your engine wiring, plug leads and distibutor. It is a water repellant and will normally do the trick.
around 30 or 40
most likely tha starter is bad or the power to the starter is bad
Yes , Because it might get damged .
well i dont know exactly where the starter is but you should be able to see it under the car around where the tranny bellhousing meets the engine at the fly wheel(auto) or flex plate(manual) either on the left or right side. if the car is not turning over at all then you can put a jumper from the battery to the starter solenoid and that should kick the starter on if it doesnt then you starter/solenoid is bad. but if you car turns over but doesnt start then your starter is fine.
sounds like you need a NEW battery once a battery is 2 to 3 years old the cold will kill a battery
It is not so much hard for a car to start when the engine is cold as it is easier for a car to start when the engine is warm.Cars that are hard to start in the cold are usually not new cars any more and because of wear and tear there is more likely to be something that doesnt work as well. when fuel is warm it ignites more easily.
The car will start. If it is malfunctioning, then the car will overheat. If the car overheats, it may not start again for awhile as a safety feature, or it may not start because of heat damage. On newer cars if the car is cold, then the electric fan will turn off. It only turns on when the antifreeze needs cooling. On older belt-driven fans, the fan runs all the time.
warm start is when your car has already been started an is hot, a cold start is wheen you have just started the car for the first time of the day, or month....
If it doesnt turn over it can be
Car Doesnt Start
no if the car doesnt start check the battery and the alternator and the starter.
I dont know what kind of car u are talking about, but it souns like it could be the coolant temp sensor.
check and make sure water is not getting in ur alternater cap
my car does not start it stalled once i started then stalled and started again drove home then it diddnt start at all.. fuel pump not priming either
it doesnt. you should get that checked it may be a problem with the relay
car has spark and fuel it will crank over but will not start
If your car doesnt start, it could be the battery. But if the car starts and you unplug the negative cable and the car turns off, its the alternator.
