generally someone with an extremely trained eye should be able to tell the make and model by a side mirror, especially if the whole shell is included. however, it may be a general make and chassis. for example, GM K trucks, which include Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon, etc, all use the same glass and similar shells.

These models came stock with a release button below the cigarette lighter. If you look directly to the right of the radio there should be a button to push that will release the glass and then once its open, your tailgate should open once you do it manually. Hope this helps you

You will have to remove the screws, with an impact. They do remove, but be careful not to break the glass. The only thing keeping the nut from turning is the glass. The screws have threadlocker on them.
