Belts are tricky. You best bet is to get a piece of string and wrap it around the pullies just exactly how the belt will normally go. Then take that string and messure it up to a tape ruler. It will then give you the size of belt you need in inches. You can then go to the local auto parts store and ask for the belt size you need. This is by far the best way to go when dealing with belts since they always vairy. Thank you, From www.SuperchargersOnline.com
under the alternator you will see a automatic belt tensioner you use a extra long 3/8 inch square breaker bar or a 3/8 ratchet wrench with a pipe extension the pulley is spring loaded so pull until belt loosens and pulls off do the same to put back on make sure there is a belt diagram on water pump pulley cover before you go nuts trying to figure out where belt goes make sure belt is on every pulley groove or belt will chew up and fly off
Answer The front door speakers are 4x6 inch and the rear deck speakers are 6x9 inch in a 2004 Grand Am.
When the engine is cold, check for serpentine belt condition and tension with a flashlight and your hand by pushing on the belt at about the halfway mark between pulleys. There should be 1/2 inch or less play in the belt. Also check for cracking along the inside surface ribs of all belts. There should be 3 total belts if you have air conditioning. Any cracking along the belt ribs and the belts should be replaced and properly tensioned. If the belts look ok so far, have a helper start the vehicle while you watch the pulleys with a flashlight. Any signs of a pulley that is not rotating with the engine is a sign of the component attached to the pulley begining to seize. Whether this is a power-steering pump, A/C compressor or other pulley driven item, it should be inspected or possibly replaced by a qualified individual.
The door speakers are either 5.25 inch or 4 inch The other speakers are 6.5 X 9 inch
There is a tension pulley to the left of the alternator. Put a 19mm socket with a torque wrench on the pulley nut. Turn the nut in a counter-clockwise direction. This will lift the pulley away from the belt and allow you to slip it off. Install is the reverse of removal.
not sure of part number but I just replaced mind and there is two belt for the supercharged engine and mine took the longer of the two about one quarter of a inch longer 1997 gtp
You can replace the belt, on your Ranch King lawnmower by loosening the tensioner pulley. Loosening the tensioner pulley will create slack in the belt.
There should be a "square" cut into the pulley bracket that fits either a 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch ratchet or breaker bar to allow you to remove tension from this pulley allowing you to replace the serpentine belt.
The ratio of the new diameter to the old one is 2.5/3 = 5/6 . So the fan will run at 5/6 of its original speed, or 1/6 slower, with the smaller pulley.
A ratchet isÊneeded to loosen the serpentine belt tension pulley on a 2002 Jeep Wrangler V6. It will require a 1/2 inch ratchet.
1.25 inch
Look for the tension pulley. there is a square hole in the end. Stick a 1/2 inch drive ratchet with a short 1/2 inch extension end into it and turn it to releave the pressure off of the pulley.
On the front of the engine, its the big, like 2-3 inch wide belt.
Looking under the hood standing over the fan look down and to the right of the fan. The tensioner is between the alternator pulley and the crank shaft pulley. There will be a 3/8 inch square hole in the tensioner. This square hole is for a 3/8 inch drive socket or pull handle to release the tension off the serpentine belt Looking under the hood standing over the fan look down and to the right of the fan. same dia/same speed
Does your car have one belt? Or does it have 2 belts? if it has one belt..............it's called a serpentine belt and you need to find the idler pulley and insert a 3/8 inch ratchet in the hole and take the tension off the belt, slide the belt off the pulley and then replace the alternator. With serpentine belts, you do not adjust the slack on the belt using the alternator, the idler pulley adjust the slack on the belt and keeps tension on it. If you have 2 belts then you may have an adjustable alternator but most cars this new have one belt. If you have 2, check back with your question updated.
Next to the pulley that is on the supercharger is a little hex nut. Take this hex nut off and drain the oil by using something to suck it out. Once all of the oil is sucked out, use "GM Supercharger Oil" which is a special blend oil and fill it back up. Make sure you fill it up to about 1/4 inch below this hex nut.
