How do you remove a broken lock lug nut?

Lug bolts are normally hammered or drawn into place with the use of the wheel. They are removed the same. Remove the wheel, you may have to set the rotor in such a position that allows for the lug removal. Usually a very small gap allows for it. Take a good hammer and carefully pound it in till it pops out the back. Take your new one and push it in than tap it a few times till enough thread is showing that it can be drawn in all the way with the wheel installed.

How do you invert a Chevy alternator into a one wire alternator?

There are several GM alts that can be converted. Later model units will each need A wiring diagramn. If you are using the '75 and up to the mid '80's alt. It has one large lug on the back that has A nut on it. This is for the charge to the battery, There are two spades side by side on the side near the back. You will need to connect A wire to the one farthest from the battery lug and connect the same wire to the battery lug. The spade that is left will need to go to the extra post on the starter, the one that is NOT for the solinoid wire. I know this sounds confusing, If you can't figure it out after reading it A couple times, Contact me in my message board.

Lug nut bolt broke while trying to get tire off how do you remove it?

You may have to get a nut splitter, a grinder, or a hammer and chisel to get nut off and then have stud replaced. Hopefully the splines in the drum haven't been torn out and a new stud can be pressed in. If not, you might be running a lug nut short (which is not at all wise) or you'll have to come up with a new drum. Auto recyclers live for challenges like this.

What could cause the rear tire to remain stuck on the car even after the lug nuts have been removed?

A very tight fit between the rim and hub. I see that often with aluminum rims. Leave one lug nut on a few threads and hit the rubber tire (not the rim) from behind with a large hammer, rotating the tire ocassionaly. Once removed clean up the center of the rim and axle hub with some sandpaper and apply a little lube around that area before assembly.

You have an odd lug nut on each rim do you need a certain tool for it?

yes that is probably your lock lug.there is a key for it there are many different locks out there.look in your glovebox to see if it is in there thats usually where they are kept. if not you will have to go to a shop they should have a special tool that will thread onto the lug and spin it off.but that usually ruins the lug and you will have to buy a new one.

Do motorcycles have lug nuts?

I will answer this question based on the many dirt bike tires in which I have changed. When I remove the wheel, there is a nut on one side of the bike which needs to be removed; after removing the nut, the axle will slide out the opposite side of the machine from the nut. I usually refer to this nut as an axle nut rather than a lug nut.

If one lug nut is changed do all have to be changed especially if it appears different than the others The auto part place I went to does not have the exact lug nut I have on the other wheels. Thanks?

as long as it is the right nut, that it fits right, then you do not have to change them all.

Change front wheel stud bolt on driver side on 99 Chevy lumina?

Wheel studs are just pressed in. Pound out the old one. Put the new one in. Slip a large nut over the stud.....one that just slides on, not screws on. Now put one of the original lug nuts on. Start tightening until the lug stud is pulled into the hub as original. Remove lug nut and large nut. That's it.
