A clip inside the door mechanism broke. It is about a $7 part and costs more than 200 dollars to fix because technicians have to take the door apart! Lexus should do a recall on this as it is a very common problem. I had to fix the driver's side door, but not going to fix the passengers.
There are lots of possibilities, but here are the most likely causes:
That just sounds like a coincidence that the door is open. look into something else.
It is not locked from the inside. It can be easily opened from the outside meaning the person in the room is ready to receive people or is OPEN to receive people or guests.
make sure that the latching mechanism is open and not closed.. that's the part that is shaped like a c where the door meets the striker(the nob that sticks out from the car) if its closed it would be like running into a closed door.. when open it should close around it correctly..if not you may need to replace the nob. Not expensive either.
It would waste electricity if the light were on all the time. It only needs to be on when the door is open.
i have an e230, had same problem when i first bought it looking for how to open everywhere, you just actually push on the gas door itself on the opposite side to where it opens, just with ur finger push on the latch door and make sure ur car is actually open or the latch door will be locked too
Go in from another door and open it from the inside.
Yes.
busted door handle
Unlock it from inside the car with the door lock.
pick ur nose! Or open the drivers door manually with the key. If it will not open maybe your door lock mechinism is broken
A person a can open the rear door from the inside. Get into the car from another door that will open and open it from the there.
It depends on the vehicle. Locksmiths have tools that they use to open vehicles. You would need to either pry the door some to get a tool inside, or go through the door cavity.
Remove the door panel, find and repair the lock linkgage.
hold the lever. Push outside !
Try checking for a child lock. If it's on, it'll keep the door from being able to be opened from the inside. Happens in our car all the time.
pick ur nose!
Some cars have a door dinger that lets you know when the door is open. My dinger was old and instead of dinging it made a clicking sound it maybe that. i hope that helps you.
