My 1995 Buick regal (3.8) has developed a problem when started. The oil level monitoring warning light stays on after the engine is running. I can shut off the motor and do a restart and the light will stay off,but every time the vehicle sits for any period of time with the motor off I go thru the same process again (light on at start up/turn off and restart and the light stays off)The oil level is up to par and the filter is clean and new. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! Faulty oil pressure switch would be my guess, same thing with my Previa. Replace the cheap switch and see if it is a more expensive problem.
I'm guessing, but the coolant level sensor is probably in the overflow bottle and it is low. This is so you notice it before the radiator itself is low.
Brake fluid in reservoir below acceptable level.
The oil level sensor for the engine is generally located in the oil pan.
If its level 100 and you just started the game, than yes
Is the engine tapping when running? If not, check the oil level. If the oil level is at the full mark on the dip stick, then check the oil sending switch. My just need to replace it. Easy fix if that is your problem.
The brake warning light comes on in your dash if the emergency brake is on or the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment is LOW
If you mean the warning light just to the left of your engine temperature gauge that means that the engine coolant level in the coolant reservoir is low
Put some oil in the engine. This warning light means your oil level is low.
check the brake fluid level in your master cylinder under the hood. The light comes on for two reasons, either the hand brake is on or your brake fluid level is low
Check your brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder in your engine compartment when it is low your brake warning light will come on
Use dipstick as a guide. Fill to proper level when engine off after it has settled/drained back to the pan.
Low fluid level or defective master cylinder.
The red " BRAKE " warning light in your dash comes on if the emergency brake / parking brake is on , or if the BRAKE FLUID LEVEL in the brake master cylinder ( located in your engine compartment , near the firewall , on the drivers side of the engine compartment ) IS LOW
No, the check engine light has nothing to do with the oil level in the vehicle. The check engine light will come on when there is a problem with the emission system. The red oil warning light will come on if your vehicle is low on oil.
If the parking brake / emergency brake is on , or if the BRAKE FLUID LEVEL in your brake master cylinder in the engine compartment is LOW , and probably before you start the engine when you turn your ignition key to the RUN position just to make sure the bulb for the warning light works
Your engine oil could be low check it when it cools and if level is fine your oil pressure sending unit could be bad or engine in need of rebuilding
Check your coolent level! Yours is low and the on/off heat gives you a warning that your going to run out of coolent and trash your engine.
