If you can hear the power window motor "trying" to work, and you still can't get the window to roll up, the most likely cause is a bad window regulator. In some vehicles, the regulators are made from plastic and become brittle over time. I had the same problem with a 2002 Jeep liberty and followed advice (see related links below for the reference) I found by googling on how the "repair/rig" the regulator to work again. As a worst case scenario, you may have to buy a replacement regulator. The good news is, it's not terribly difficult to replace, especially if your a do-it-yourself'er.
Try taking off door panel and spraying all contacts with Electronic Contact Cleaner. Moisture may have got in door and corroded contact points
Worn out regulator, worn out tracts.
you need to have long skinny arms and the right extension, ratchet, and socket for the tough job to get at them.
I have a 93 Jeep GC. You can put the window back on track but it will certainly come off again. You need a window regulator/actuator. Ive done a lot of research on the web and it seems that most jeeps are having the same issues with the windows. The part is pretty expensive. Someone told me you can use the rollers offf of a sliding screen door instead
are u talking about the one that's not in the rear door but next to it, if so on the inside of the car undo the seat belt from the panel that surrounds the window remove the long thing panel from the top of the back window then revove the surround from the side window u want to replace, once u do this u will see that there is about 6 or 8 10mm nuts go around them and undo these then simply push the old one out, with the new one clean off all the old sikaflex and put a small bead around the window in the same place and push back in then put everything back in reverse.... hope that helps
they wear the red flag to the right in the back pocket.
Several thins can cause the 98 Avalon window to not go up. The switch could be bad, the motor relay could be bad, or the motor itself can be defective.
it is built into the back window
In my 1999 Alero, it did this and it was traced back to the power steering pump going bad.
How do I take the back panel off
its on the front of the motor by the crank shaft pulley or it could be on the back in the same spot
Go to autozone and get a recharging kit. The suction line will be in the back near the firewall
There's a bleeder on all four wheels. You would start on the back, most likely back right, passenger side, then drivers side, then front right, front left, working farthest from the brake fluid reservoir to the closest.
It is important to know the location of all the car parts when owning a car. The mass airflow sensor in a 2001 Olds Alero is towards the back of the engin, near the air intake, under most of the tubes and wiring.Ê
take off inner door panel, lower track and put the window back in. If parts on track are broken buy new ones. Use urathain to reinstall window.
Realigning a window on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix requires the door panel to be removed. After the panel is off the window can easily be put back on track.
window removal steps are illustrated.... You should be able to find a shop manual at your local library with the right info...make copies as they are usually only in the REFERENCE section....good luck:)
Remove the inside door panel. The entire power window mechanism will be visible. Put the window back onto the window track.
Turn the key to the right.
