Check your tank, it seems like you have some water in there. The best way to take water away from there is to use Dry Gas which you can buy in any auto part stores. You will need to do that at least 3-4 times (1 bottle for 1 full tank).

I had the same problem with an 01 Impala. Unfortunaltely the fix isn't cheap. For mine, it was the ignition switch combined with the BCM (Body Control Module). About a grand at the mechanic will fix it. However having said that, I made the repair, and the problem has started again only 6 months later. A quick diagnostic at the mechanic will specify what the problem is.

Toyota, foreign cars in my opinion are better than American. Foreign cars last longer and American breaks down alot. My dad has a 2003 Toyota Camry with 290,000 miles on it. He has not had to repair or fix anything, except the oil of course. They are more dependable. My family member had a ford, a month later the radiator went out. And it was a 2006. However, it will use up more gas as with any car accelerating above normal. I have a 6 cylinder 96 camry myself. I love the lil extra power. It makes it feel sportier!
