If you didnt have a broken cam belt, recheck your timing marks and be sure you are not 108 degrees out

if you haven't changed the timing belt recently, you might as well change the timing belt, water pump, and both idler pulley and timing belt tensioner. This way you can set the timing with the proper tools, that's probably what you'll have to do anyhow since the belt moved, hopefully it didn't damage any valves when you tried to start it and the belt was off timing.
