The Dash 84 Cutless Supreme should come equipped with an owner's manual. This manual provides all information needed on the vehicle, hence, being able to assist in the removal of the instrument clusted. A Chilton will give the owner all the information to make repairs.
If it is an automatic you have to remove the pan
First try turning the light switch knob and see if your lights don't come back on. If that fails there are several small plastic pieces that are a half twist screwed in to the circuit board. They are about half an inch round pieces with a small bridge on them to allow you to get a grip on them. Once you remove the instrument cluster you will see them.
It is a bit of a pain. you remove the washer fluid tank and a metal cross bar with two bolts. The battery is hidden under the washer fluid tank. It will be the side post model and you should match the cranking power and size as the one you are removing.
Remove the instrument panel cover. Remove the instrument panel retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the gauges. The instrument panel will come out.

Undo the rivet under the lock, pop the black clip out and the lock slides out.
Remove the instrument cluster cover. Each instrument gauge is secured separately with retaining screws. Remove the retaining screws from each gauge. Remove the wiring harnesses from each gauge.

You must first remove the instrument panel,then remove all the screws that hold the top of the das on, then you will see you speakers. It is a lot to go threw, but i just did mine and it worked out ok. Cheers
