The Power Steering hose on a BMW 740 is replaced by placing a drain pan under the vehicle, removing the hoses with an open ended wrench, and screwing new hoses into position. The reservoir can then be topped off while the steering is moved from side to side to remove air bubbles.
Well the power steering cable is right next to the throttle cable on the throttle body.
740 written in exponential form is 7.4 x 10^2
To replace the ignition switch on a Volvo 740, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the plastic cover around the steering column for access, then detach the ignition switch by unscrewing it and disconnecting the wiring harness. Install the new ignition switch by reversing the removal process, ensuring all connections are secure, and finally, reattach the steering column cover. Reconnect the battery and test the new ignition switch to ensure it functions properly.
My Daughter has a 1988 240DL and the only time we have had problems with the power steering (P/S) is when the belt has broken. My wife also had a 1992 740 and never had problems with the P/S. Both vehicle had done over 150,000 miles. The steering on both were excellent. * First check that the P/S belt is intact and isn't slipping. It's driven off the A/C compressor pulley so if the A/C belt is slipping or the compressor bearings or clutch are going bad this could affect the power steering. Also if the A/C belt breaks the power steering obviously won't work. * If the belts won't tighten or keep slipping and you can't set the P/S pulley to run parallel to the A/C, then the rubber bushings on the P/S mounts may be worn and need to be replaced. * Check for P/S fluid leaks. If a hose is leaking, replace it. If the unit is leaking fluid, it will be cheapest to get an exact replacement from a breaker's yard. * If all of this is O.K. then you could be looking at damage to the steering rack. Hope this helps, EMT
In the 1989 Volvo 740 GL with a Bosch system it is located just above the steering column on the dash.
buy a new one
The dual rubber hose that connects the vapor canister to the throttle body in an '89 Volvo 740 Turbo is commonly referred to as the "evaporative emissions control hose" or simply the "vapor hose." This hose is part of the vehicle's evaporative emissions system, which helps control fuel vapors and reduce emissions. If you're replacing it, ensure you get the correct size and specifications for your model.
If my memory serves me correctly, it's a black 8 pronged cap (looks like a boat steering wheel) on black canister, located on the drivers side of the engine bay. Be sure to follow the cold or hot indicator marks.
Usually in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Try overdrive relay, you can buy them anywhere, replace old one, it is very easy.. I had to replace one on my 88 740. Give it a shot before you let someone work on it.
On a 240 Volvo (which basically should have the same engine) it is directly under the intake manifold. On a 1985-740 previous comment is right On a 1990-740, driver side, on top the engine between injectors #3 and #4 a big tubing and a small vaccum hose attach to the flame trap
under the bumper on the left front volvodoctor It's on your steering wheel brainiac.... j/k
