only a Buick, olds or Pontiac engine will bolt to a Pontiac tranny as Chevy blocks have a different bolt pattern.
A 350 Oldsmobile engine has a different bolt pattern than the Chevrolet engine. The 350 Olds and 350 Pontiac engines have the same bolt pattern. The 350 Chevrolet and the 350 Buick engines have the same bolt pattern. Unless you have a dual bolt pattern transmission (there are some out there) in that Chevy, the Olds engine won't bolt into the Chevy transmission.
No, the tranny has to be out of a olds, Pontiac, or Buick to bolt up to a Pontiac engine.
What about it? Chevy will interchange regardless of the years. Wiring and plumbing is going to vary but it will bolt to the transmission. Buick, Olds, Pontiac will interchange with each other with the same issues. They will not bolt up to a chevy transmission unless you have a duel pattern transmission that has both bolt patterns on it.
sure, as long as it's a Chevy turbo 400 and not a Buick, Pontiac or olds 400 it will bolt right up.
Could be one of three V6 engines or a Chevy V8. The transmission won't bolt up to the Olds motor. However, you can change the motor mounts.....Use the ones for a Cutlass and a Buick, Olds, Pontiac transmission.
mostly any "old school' GM transmission that has the (BOP) bolt pattern will fit the 307 Olds motor. these (BOP) transmission have extra bolts holes so you can bolt to a Chevy and bucik, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile *** you can buy an adapter plate and bolt any engine you want to a 307***
not if it is an Oldsmobile engine, Buick, Pontiac, and olds had the same bolt pattern in the 70's, different from Chevy
Nope.....Chevy will only bolt to Chevy. The other brands....Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Caddy share the same bolt patter.
The bolt pattern on Chevy engines is unique. There are TH350 transmissions with both the Chevy bolt pattern and the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) pattern, but they are becoming somewhat rare.
A Chevy turbo 400 will bolt up to a Chevy 400 engine just fine. A BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) turbo 400 will not bolt up to a Chevy engine. The bellhousing is different between the Chevy turbo 400 case and the BOP turbo 400 case. Another option is a J-W Performance ultrabell which can be used with a Chevy or a Buick, Olds, Pontiac engine, but this requires the transmission case to be modified in order to use it (The original bellhousing must be cut off and the case prepped, then the ultrabell bolts on with the front pump bolts).
As long as it has a Buick/Olds/Pontiac bolt pattern on it, it will fit!
