Chances are your computer's network card does not have up to date drivers or configuration. Check the manufacturer's website and verify that you have the most recent driver, otherwise the router could be At Fault (it might not be assigning a new IP address when your computer identifies itself on the network). Check the drivers first, however.
If its your home computer you should be able to just unplug the power to the router and wait 15 seconds or so then plug power back in. It will have no choice but to reset itself. If its a company computer make sure its ok to turn off power to the router before you unplug it.(ask the admin)(or you could screw up any up/down-loads going on).
The primary thing that happens when you reset your router is that it does back to default settings. This means that the network and wireless settings will need to be reconfigured.
It is on the back of your router/modem.
Check that other computers connected wirelessly to the router have internet. If with internet on other computers everything is ok, check router mac filter. Check firewall settings on your laptop. Try to turn windows firewall off and connect to internet. If it works you have to create manually rules for the firewall in order to use it along with internet. Check your broweser settings such Proxy servers, coneection, network and so on, check your PC on another router (some adapters are not compatible with certain routers).
Most routers have a reset switch in the back. You need to connect the computer to the router using a LAN Cable. Press and HOLD the reset button (you might need a pen) until the lights reset on the router. This will reset the router's current settings and reset the router to default. From there, you may need to reset your routers passwords and other settings. Best way is with your connected computer to your router, using your internet browser's address bar, put in the ip address displayed on your lan connection icon. Most routers have a setup menu flashed into the hardware. If it asks for username/password, check the model's website for default username and password. From there, you should be able to reestablish a new password in the security tab for your router. (Also, if you have an install disk, then you can install the same stuff to your pc where you can modify your settings, which may be easier for the less technical)
Unplug the router for 5 min and then plug it back in.
The wireless router is usually the cause of any malfunctions in wireless internet. I always have to unplug mine, and then plug it back in later. Reset it.
If the Internet stops working in your house, you should start trying to fix the problem by unplugging the N wireless router and then plugging it back in again. This will force it to reconnect and reset. Often, this is enough to get it to work. You may also have to restart the modem. If these things do not work, then you can assume that there is a larger issue with the router or the provider.

If you are locked out of the router you will need to reset it. There will be a small button (usually at the back) with reset written beside it. You will probably need a paper clip or something to push it. <><><> Next to the power supply connection is a pinhole Reset button. Disconnect all cords from your router except the power cord. Press Reset button with a pin for 10 seconds. Wait 10 more seconds then unplug router. If it is then reset to the original factory settings you will have to reinstall it using software that came with router. You may have to reinstall your network card software as well. <><><> Some, but not all, routers have a reset button. Different routers require different steps to perform resetting. On many of them, to restore your own "personal setup" that was created when you first installed the router - not the original factory settings - you just have to disconnect the power supply and reconnect it after a minute or two. You will need to locate and read the manual if you cannot get to Belkin's support site online.
