Picture files compatible with Windows Movie Maker:
.bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif, .jpe, .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .tif, .tiff, and .wmf
If your pictures are in one of the above mentioned formats, they can be imported into Windows Movie Maker.
> Open your Windows Movie Maker program
> Click the Import Media button (top right corner)
> Browse for and locate the picture you want to import
> Click Import button
The picture now appears in the Imported Media pane. Drag and drop the picture into the Storyboard or Time-line view. Click the Play button in the Preview pane to see results.

If you are trying to add pictures into video media currently on the Video track, you will need to split the video (using the split option). Once the track has been split, you can place photos/pictures etc., into it.
Publish/Finish the video in Windows Movie Maker. That makes the entire video one clip.
To create a fade out effect in Movie Maker, you can add a fade transition at the end of your video clip. This transition gradually decreases the visibility of the clip until it fades out completely.

Sorry. That can't be done on Windows Live Movie Maker.
You can't do that in Windows Movie Maker. Of course you can use an animation, but you can't place it over a picture or video clip in the same project. You can do that in other video editing software applications, but not Windows Movie Maker. Sorry.
If you are trying to insert a new clip into an existing clip in Windows Live Movie Maker, you can't do that. You can only add clips in between other clips. In other words, you can add pictures or separate video clips in the project and drag them around to where you would like them. However, you can't combine them.
first open up windows movie maker or wax or sony Vegas etc... then drag a sound clip to the timeline then drag a few pictures into it then your done
Video clips are not limited to 5 seconds in Windows Movie Maker. They are limited to whatever length originally recorded. Perhaps you meant pictures/photos? If so, you can stretch the clip on the time-line view so that it is displayed longer than the 5 second default.
