First of all too much fiber can be bad and create a blockage in the intestines that may have to be removed by surgery.

Eating vegetables, fruit, beans and whole grains as fiber is good though becasue fiber gently scrapes the sides of the entire intestinal tract to remove the sludge that non-fibrous and fatty foods leave in there- like white bread, ice cream.

The sludge can irritate the lining of the intestines and cause pockets to form where partially digested food or feces can collect causing problems ranging from inflamation to cancer to develop over the years.

When you eat alot of fiber you should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to help it move along.
