I think you mean "what is the voltage of the electric power distribution in US houses" It's called 240 volt single phase, which is a misnomer, as it is actually two phases of 120 volts each. Most outlets are connected to one of those phases and supply 120 volts to appliances. Some appliances that require more power connect to both phases for 240 volts.

Addendum to the answer:

The answer above might look a bit vague, the voltage in the US is 120V (same as Canada, most of Europe is 220-240 V), the electrical frequency is 60 Hz. Plugs used are A or B.

Where can wind energy be used?

anywhere, smart one That's right, anywhere. Small, efficient wind generators have now been designed that can be placed nearly anywhere the wind blows. This includes homesteads, schools, green houses, city houses, boats, at campsites, etc. So, not only can you use the energy produced from wind everywhere we use electricity now, we can also generate it at the site of consumption.

What is an alternating current transmitted at high voltages but usually at low voltages?

I assume you mean "Why" rather than "What". Simply stated, there are fewer transmission losses using high voltage, so the large power lines run at high voltage, but for home use, high voltage would be dangerous and would require considerably more insulation, so it is stepped down to about 115V RMS (root mean square average) for home use. Fewer people get killed and fewer houses burn down that way.

Are houses wire parallel?

Yes

Why are houses wired with parallel circuits?

Because the supply voltage is common to each branch of a parallel circuit, each appliance receives its rated voltage which is necessary for the appliance to operate at its rated power. This is the main reason. Another reason is, should one appliance fail, then -unlike a series circuit- the other appliances will keep working.

What are the applications of autotransformer?

Power transformers may be step-up or step-down. Distribution transformers are step-down. Isolation transformers are 1:1 ration transformers. Matching transformers are used in electronic circuits for impedence matching purposes. Instrument transformers are used to measure high-voltage voltages and currents or to operate protective systems.
