you have to disconnect it at the bottom from its seal, being careful not to get the broken pieces in the crankcase. then you slide it down and away from its upper bracket.
to put the new one on, you have to come from the bottom with the tube, slip it on to the holder on the upper bracket and lower it onto the the engine/crankcase opening. I had to loosen the two allen-bolts on the top bracket to have enough room.

No it is not.
to the right of the oil dip stick
Changing the dip stick shouldn't cause a leak, although changing the dipstick tube might cause a small leak for a minute or two. be careful of the rubber O RING on either the bottom of the filler tube or the transmission if you're changing the tube
Where is the transmission dip stick on 2001 acura m
To replace the oil dip tube on a 1995 Ford Mustang, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove any necessary components obstructing access to the dip tube, typically the oil pan. Once exposed, detach the old dip tube by pulling it out from its mounting location, then insert the new dip tube securely into place. Finally, reassemble any removed parts and reconnect the battery.
most dip tubes when they go bad don't look like anything at all because there's nothing left to it. when you pull out your cold side nipple which is 3 to 4" inches long then you can pull out your dip tube and inspect it. If your dip tube has cracks in it or holes then I would replace it . Most dip tubes in a water heater tank should be long enough so that the bottom of the dip tube is within 4 to 6" of the bottom of the tank.
IN THE DIP STICK TUBE.....
