Anything cardio (running, swimming, cycling) training twice a day is more beneficial in the short term as it gets your body used to stress quicker. Long term cardio workouts are better, as it builds a stronger heart. Weight training must never be done twice a day, as the stress on the muscles is far too great.

Remember the 45 minute rule of exercising.

Your muscles only hold about 45 minutes of fuel (glycogen), after this your body will begin to break down body fat to use as fuel. After about 90 minutes your body will start to break down muscles which are not in use, and use the protein for repair of muscles that are being used.

So if you do exercise over 45 minutes drink a sports drink if running, and or a protein drinks if doing weights.
