when we eat food it gives us energy. energy is usually given in the form of glucose which is utilized for carrying voluntary & involuntary activities of the body. the excess glucose is stored in the form of glycogen & lipids which are utilzed during lean periods. if they remain unutilized they are stored in the form of fats in the body which results in adiposity & obesity.
