I would say cardio training is definitely the way to lose weight.
Strength training is for building muscles - obviously.
However, it is important to note that once you've slimmed down to a certain degree, you should also focus on gaining a little bit of muscle in order to increase your body's metabolic rate.
While cardiovascular training burns fat, you are using energy only while you are working out. Muscle fibers, however, burn energy 24/7. Thus, cardio and strength training combined will bring boost your result provided that you use them correctly.
Also note that there is no "quick and easy" way of achieving a good body and health. Anyone who tells you otherwise is trying to sell you something.
Hope this helps and good luck with your training.

The main difference between cardio and strength training lies in their primary focus and benefits. Cardio exercises, such as running or cycling, primarily enhance cardiovascular endurance and burn calories by elevating heart rate. In contrast, strength training, like weightlifting, focuses on building muscle strength and mass by using resistance. Both types of exercise are important for overall fitness, but they target different aspects of physical health.
