First, you'll need saltwater and fresh water, the crabs will like to have a net or rock of some sort to climb and play on, they also like a separate dish for their food. Hermit crab toys are available in a local pet store. A coconut cut in half and a doorway will do perfectly for a house and hiding spots for your hermit crab.
No, for the substrate you can have coconut fiber. I have half of that and sand.
No, it is not recommended to put live grass in a hermit crab cage as it may contain pesticides or other chemicals harmful to the crabs. Instead, you can use dried grasses or substrate options like coconut fiber or sand for their habitat.

no we had over ten hermit crabs in one cage and they were all fine.:) since they are both different sizes you should keep an eye on them but you shouldn't worry because hermit crabs are very social animals.

Sand or rocks are best. But, many crabs like coconut fiber. you can find it at most pet stores.
They are just having fun.
Hermit Crabs like Humidity. They need 70-80% humidity to survive. But, if it like 100 degrees and no humidity i recommend to put a fan or air conditioner on then, or in their cage.
No hermit crabs need high humidity (70-85%)
