Fruit Spoilage
i think apples are yummy.
An apple starts to spoil from the moment it is plucked from the tree. Refrigeration slows down bacterial and enzymatic spoilage and this leads to an extended shelflife.
By drying apples, or any food item, you reduce the water activity which will help prevent or slow the growth of spoilage microorganisms or pathogens.

Apples do not naturally contain sulphites. However, some processed apple products, such as dried apples or certain apple juices, may have sulphites added as preservatives to prevent browning and spoilage. It's important to check labels if you have a sensitivity or allergy to sulphites. Fresh apples, when consumed raw, are typically free of added sulphites.
