Generally speaking, the virus is a smallest living organism that consists of one DNA strand (or RNA), tightly wrapped in protein and lipids (fat molecules). Of course, some species of virus are larger than others. Nevertheless, a viral organism consists of a relatively limited amount of molecules, and it is ABSOLUTELY without a cellular structure and void of any cellular components. It can ONLY replicate inside a living cell. It is a parasitic organism by nature, and in order for it to complete its life cycle, it must utilize cellular structures of another organism. A virus cannot replicate independently. There is even a debate among microbiologists, as to whether or not it can meet the definition of life. Yeast, on the other hand, is a species of fungi. It can be unicellular (one cell) or can form multicellular clusters. Regardless, even unicellular yeast organism is BY FAR larger than any given viral particle.

A virus is NOT a life form. It is NOT living in any sense. Viruses are much smaller than yeast.
