What are the similarities and differences between the Korean War and the Vietnam war?

1. The US Civil War was the first US Military massive draft of men, the Vietnam was the last.

2. Both wars had an assassinated US president.

3. Both wars had a President Johnson.

4. Both wars had a Vice President take over the nation due to the assassination.

5. Both wars the South lost the war.

6. Both wars the North won the war.

7. Both wars had draft dodgers.

8. Both wars treated their returning vets badly (for the South in the Civil War).

9. Both was had a civil rights issue.

10. Both wars introduced a new "assault" rifle; Spencer & M16.

11. Both wars had a reuniting "Splendid Little War" to amend the wounds from the Civil War & Vietnam War; The Spanish-American War of 1898 (called the Splendid Little War) and Operation Desert Storm in 1991 (called the 100 Hour War and the Gulf War). Both the SAW & DS occurred in the 90s.

12. The SAW was the last US war in which US Soldiers wore the blue uniform, as the US transitioned to khaki (brown) unforms. DS was the first full scale general issue of Desert Camoflage uniforms for the US services.

13. Both the Civil War & Vietnam War were UNDECLARED WARS.

Both the Vietnam War and the US Civil War occurred in the '60s (1960's and 1860's). The US Civil War created our nation's first "Brown Water Navy" river boat warfare fleet, Vietnam was our last "Brown Water Navy." Both US presidents were shot in the head and killed during both wars, and again in the '60s. The nations first draft of men was in the civil war, along with the first draft RIOTS. The nations last draft of men was in the Vietnam War, along with the last draft RIOTS. The US Civil War divided our nation, AND DIVIDED OUR FAMILIES, brother against brother. The Vietnam War divided our nation, AND DIVIDED OUR FAMILIES, brother against brother. The South lost in the civil war in America, and the South lost the war in Vietnam. The Southerners returning home during our civil war were treated as "traitors" to the United States (which was natural, since that was one of the objectives of the civil war, separating from the United States). The men returning home after fighting for South Vietnam were treated with ill well. The wounds of the American Civil War were considered healed during our Spanish-American War of 1898, which was nick-named the "Splendid Little War", because it only lasted six months with minimal casualties. And, it had been a short and sweet victory for the US over Spain. Former Northerners and Southerners fought side by side against the enemy, and came home to rousing parades of victory and glory. The hatchet of the "hated" Civil War was buried, Rebels and Yankees would both wear the blue uniform as one nation. President Bush (Sr) had defeated, "...the Vietnam syndrom", after our victorious troops returned from fighting during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, nicknamed the "100 hundred hour war". With rousing parades of victory and glory, the "hated Vietnam War" was forever buried, America would never become divided again, Desert Storm had re-united America! Both the Spanish-American War of 1898 and Desert Storm occurred in the '90s. Both campaigns were hailed as ending the strife and hatred of the two '60s war (Civil War and Vietnam). Both of the '90s military actions were note worthy, in that they had HEALED THE NATIONS WOUNDS AND RE-UNITED AMERICA (from the divisions of the '60s).
