Do you still maintain the republican principles upon which your government was founded or are you moving toward becoming a pure democracy?

Neither. We are moving toward communism.AnswerIn the United States our government is a public affair. James Madison defined our Republic in terms of a representative democracy. We refer to our founding ideology as Republicanism. A distinctive definition of Republic has evolved in the United States, our very own brand. We have the right to choose our government and our government is indirectly controlled by the people. The Constitution protects the rights of our people and we are ruled by laws. Our Republic is only dysfunctional to those who misunderstand the concept of a Republic. Those are the unhappy citizens who have been mislead to think the majority rules. They are the ones who want the majority to vote on what rights the minority will have. However, the Republican principles on which our country was founded are still alive and well and functioning despite aggressive onslaughts from every side. There are too many patriots on both sides who would fight to the death to keep our government from being under the total control of a few. Although it has worked in different places at different times the United States is too strong to allow the tyranny of the majority to become the law of the land.
