America was founded by minorities who were oppressed by the majority. This is the reason our government was guaranteed to be a Republic in form rather than a Democracy. Therefore, the representative process counts on accountability by the representative to their constituency and the Constitution in order to work properly and prevent misconstruction and abuse.
