The US males that were drafted into military service and sent to Vietnam were from ALL walks of American life. There were surfers from California, fisherman from Louisiana, cowboys from Oklahoma, professional fishermen from Alaska, Hippies from California, racecar drivers from Pennsylvania, snow skiiers from Colorado, Accountants from New York City, bakers and cooks from anywhere USA, truck drivers from anywhere USA, many former college students (who lost their draft deferment status due to low grades), mechanics, policeman, sheriff deputies, school teachers, doctors, engineers, plumbers, ditch diggers, and many men who had a run in with the law, and the courts gave them a second chance at life.
