There is also an adjustment, on my Sportsman 450, on the cable near the throttle. Pull rubber boot back.
I don't think the 2003 700 Sportsman has CV bootsup frt only in the rear the frt is just universal joints @ least on mine

remove the console, you should see some screws on the bottom of the boot, remove, replace boot, replace console
your front cv boot is tore. Replace this.
A CV boot is found on the axle of a vehicle. To replace the outer boot remove the axle bolt and pull the boot off. The inner boot requires removal of the whole axle.
in a 2005 800 the front outer is replaced by removing axle nut. brake caliper, rotor and boot. rest half shaft on jack stand. place large pipe wrench or adjustable wrench over shaft behind cv joint. strike wrench with a 2.5 pound hammer. cv joint can be easily disassembled and cleaned. use screwdriver handle to tap bearing cage verticle. remove bearings one at a time. rotating cage after each one. clean, rinstall and grease.
you cannot just change the boot you will have to replace the whole axle
remove axle bolt from spindle and push it through you may have to remove spindle if no clearance. remove factory tie strap clean and grease before replacing with new boot reassemble in reverse watch for pin on nut threads reversed on passenger side always consult technical manual and follow safety protocols
The engine is rear mounted and the boot is at the front on the older classic Beetles. The New Beetles have the engine in the front and the boot (trunk) in the back.
