Does it have a belt drive in the mower deck? If it does the beltmight be burning, usually will produce a squealing sound along with it, Is the block leaking oil? might be burning oil when it is touching the hot block
Underneath the engine block.
Place a block of C4 underneath it
In a Champion it would be an RJ19LNM for a valve-in-block engine and an RC12YC for the OHV engines
If it is the 2.2 engine, on the lower passenger side of the engine block. It is best reached from underneath.
The knock sensor is located on top of the engine block underneath the intake.
Back of the engine block, underneath the coilpack.
directly underneath the alternator on the engine block
If you have the 7MGE engine: Then the knock sensor is screwed into the engine block, directly underneath the intake manifold.
On the passenger side of the engine block. It is best reached from underneath.
The solenoid is on the left hand side facing the engine underneath the block. There are only 3 bolts to change it out and u need to do it from underneath the car.It's right next to the where the transmission connects to the block. good luck
It goes into the water pump. You remove a plug and screw in the block heater. Between the engine and the firewall. You can get at it from underneath.
Three possibilities. Overfilled with oil. Worn cylinder or rings. Worn valve guides. On most smaller engines, it's cheaper to replace the engine or the short block. If the engine has overhead valves and the valve guides are worn, a short block won't fix the problem.
