Elena choose Stefan simply because when it came down to it she realized she loved Stephan just like Bella realized she love Edward more. Simply she love Stefan more and he was a better choice then his brother

∙ 11y agoIn the TV series Elena picks Stefan. Elena phones Damon and he asks her a question, if it was down to him (Stefan) and Damon and she had to make a choice, who would have got the goodbye?
Elena says that she loves Stefan and that he came into her life at a time when she needed someone and she fell for him instantly. No matter what he feels for Damon, she never un-fell for him. Damon tells her that he gets it. It's Stefan, it was always going to be Stefan. Elena says that she can't think about all this and all she can think about is right now. She then tells Damon that she cares about him and that's why she has to let him go. She then says maybe if she and him met first, he replies "Maybe".
