It should me stamped on the information plate.

If this is not on it, then there will be the running current stamped on the plate. Multiply this by the supply voltage to find the power in watts. Take the horsepower of the motor and multiply it by 746. There are 746 watts in 1 HP. It is also the same for single phase motors.

What is a 3 phase motor that can run with a slip of zero called?

Synchronous motor

Disadvantages of 3 phase induction motor?

One of the disadvantages of the 3 phase induction motor is that it requires a three wire supply. The other disadvantage is that the 3 phase induction motors have poor starting torque and high have in the rush currents.

How much current will 7.5 hp 3 phase motor pull?

Well, there are 746 Watts in one Hp; so just based upon that, it equals 5595.0 Watts. But I would then say, you would have to know at what Voltage the system is operating at, in order to determine the current. I would divide the Voltage into the above Watts to find that. However, I do not know how the 3 phase of it all would affect final value. Eg. if system = 480 Volts, that would be ~ 12 Amps <<>> The formula you are looking for when amperage is desired when horsepower is shown is - I = hp x 746 / 1.73 x volts x % efficiency x power factor.

What is phase fail protection?

In a 3 phase power system, say for a 3 phase motor - it is necessary to have all three phases intact to be able to run the motor efficiently, safely. If any one phase fails , the motor still continues to run but the temperature raises rapidly, due to high current. The motor winding can burn out, can trip off due to overload. Hence a device called phase failure relay is connected. It constantly reads all the 3 phases and cuts off the main supply in case any one phase fails.

Why ground the neutral of a 3 phase ac motor?

In a three phase motor each leg (3 phases) in the down cycle alternating at 1/60 per second servers as a neutral, you are only required to ground (green) the frame of the motor for safety. This is similar In a single phase motor wired for 240v (2 phases) the same thing happens and you are only required to ground (green) the frame of the motor for safety. From: Ken F

How much each circuit breaker amperes do you need for 3 phase 2200 watts motor?

To answer this question the voltage of the motor must be given. Watts is the product of amps x volts. Amps = Watts/Volts. Once this is found the motor breaker needs to be larger to allow for the inrush start current.

How do you convert a 0.37kw 4 pole 3 phase motor to single phase?

The motor cannot be altered to work on single phase power. You will either have to put in a new single phase motor or use a phase convertor box. Do a google search for phase convertor - you will find plenty.

Which type of the motor is used in fan?

Low-power (a few watts) might use a synchronous motor, most fans use an induction motor. Above a couple of horse-power it might be a 3-phase induction motor.

Is a 3 phase motor a Synchronous motor?

A synchronous motor can be a type of 3-Phase AC motor, or not.A synchronous motor is defined by the period of the rotor being synchronized with the frequency of the stator windings' current. The stator windings might be 3-Phase or not (2-Phase would work). Also synchronous motors are not the only type of 3-Phase AC motors. An induction motor could also be 3-Phase AC and has a few advantages and disadvantages over a synchronous motor.
