There is no single age by law after which brother and sister are forbidden to share a bedroom. In some parts of the world, brother and sister, father and mother share the same bedroom throughout life. In others, it is customary that each child have his or her own bedroom from the first day of life.

Some jurisdictions may forbid teen-aged siblings of the opposite sex from sharing bedrooms or beds, but this is mostly handled by custom within families, with the law stepping in if sexual activity occurs.

There are a variety of laws concerning residences that many states have. Some include requiring electricity or running water, though even then many religious exemptions exist.

I have heard of, and found, no laws regulating bedroom sharing amongst siblings. In the United States, the right to have children is generally - with the rarest of exceptions - absolute. If the parents can't afford more than one bedroom, then the brother and sister would presumeably share the same bedroom till one moved away.

There may be specific court ordered cases, dealing with perceived problems of incest, but such would require legal proceedings, and apply only to the specific family.

Any broad law compelling separate bedrooms would be easily susceptible to legal challenge on a variety of grounds.

I believe that there are limits on the total number of occupants of a given sized house in some states or localities. And some places dictate that a given number of bathrooms must exist per number of occupants. But even such laws generally only apply to places that accept government funding.

But as with all legal questions, one should consult a qualified attorney in your area to get advice specific to your situation. Most will answer a question for free, or offer a free consultation.

ADDED: In a normal family is would personally say that, if possible, brothers and sisters should not share a bedroom once the oldest person is about 10 years old but that is not always possible for everyone. When my mother got remarried there were now seven kids and two adults trying to share a three bedroom two bath house. For the first six months after the marriage my two sisters (13 & 15) and I (16) ended up having to share the family room. We had two queen beds setup on either side of the room with a dresser in between to to beds. My sisters slept in one bed and I slept in the other. For the most part we had privacy by changing in the bathroom but there were the few occasions were we were all in the bathroom at the same time since there were six kids trying to share the same bath to get ready for school. My sisters would be in the shower and my brother and I would be brushing our teeth and vise versa. We respected each others privacy and never invaded it. My sisters and I are now adults and when we look back at this we see it as harmless kid stuff. Even though we had shared a Bedroom and bathroom throughout our school years we were not in anyway harmed by what had happened. So as far as the law goes, I don't think there is a legal age at which children can no longer share share a room but if you look at the moral/ethical part then I would have to say that children normally should not share a room past the age of 10 but to fear that something sexual will happen just because you have brothers and sisters in the same room is just plain stupid on their part

It is not illegal at any age to share a bed. A question of legality would come in only if they were doing something illegal in the bed.
