1998 Chevrolet Blazer Brake Light Bulb Troubleshooting (check in this order):
· Check Fuse(s) although I doubt that the 3rd brake light is on separate fuse
· Check Brake Bulbs - Including bad bulbs, loose connected or incorrectly installed bulbs, left, right and center high mount - 1 bad bulb or connection in the circuit can cause the entire circuit to malfunction.
· Check Turn Signal Bulbs
· Check switch on brake pedal
· Check license plate light bulb and wiring (sometimes on same circuit)
· Check trailer hitch wiring harness (sometimes on same circuit)
· Check all wiring harnesses and wiring for shorts
Most likely it's the fuse or a burnt bulb breaking the circuit. Sometimes the license plate and/or the trailer hitch is wired into other circuits and can cause issues in other areas. Sometimes its wires grounding out somewhere on the vehicle. See sources and related links below for bulb information. See owner's manual for location and identification of fuses.
Check the light for condensation. There could be a short that has cause the light to malfunction. If so, the entire light unit will have to be replaced.
My guess would be to check the wires under the drivers side floor mat.
Is the bulb burned out? Is the fuse for that side brake light good? If both answers are 'yes', then perhaps you should have an automotive electrical specialist check out the problem.
If memory serves me right, each tail light assembly has a printed circuit board that the bulbs plug into. That circuit board burns out. That part is available from the Chevy dealer.
Check your tire pressure, check for wear on your front brakes, check for defective tire check steering parts may need front end alignment wheel bearing may need adjustment
When the ABS and E-Brake dash lights illuminate together, it usually means that there is a loss of pressure. It's a fairly common problem on 4wd S-series vehicles (S-10, Sonoma, Blazer, Jimmy). It's best to have a dealership or qualified repair center diagnose the exact cause and make repairs.
The Integra uses a dual-filament bulb in the tail light, which has one contact for the running light (the lights you turn on at night) and another brighter one for the brake light (only goes on when you press the brake pedal). You have replaced the bulb with the wrong type. You will need a 2057 bulb for the Integra.
Directly above the brake pedal.
b/c light fool
you most likely need to change them
you can find the switch on the back of the brake pedal.
If nothing is holding the pedal down then the brake light switch is at fault.
It could be low on brake fluid, a sign of trouble. Have the brakes checked SOON!
The brake light is on because there is a problem with the brake system. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on. Once the problem is corrected the light will reset itself.
Check the brake light switch.
Check the fuse, check the bulbs and check the brake light switch, it should be one of those.
Remove the wiring harness from the high mount brake light. Remove the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new high mount brake light.
The antilock brake system has a problem. The light will remain until it is fixed. The abs will not function when light is on. Take it to your mechanic soon.
The 2001 Chevy Blazer brake lights may not work and the third bake stays on because the current light needs to be replaced. A replacement brake light can be purchased at an Auto Parts store like Pep Boys.
