Fly Away Home (1996), starred Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin.
This movie was based around the real experiences of a Canadian inventor and microlight enthusiast, Bill Lishman. In the late '80s and early '90s he considered whether geese could be shown alternative migratory patterns if they followed microlight craft on which they had been imprinted. In 1993 after various setbacks, Lishman led a Canada Geese flock on their winter migration from Ontario in Canada to Virginia in the USA. Of the 16 birds in the flock, 13 returned the following year, completely on their own.

The Miracle on the Hudson is about a pilot who landed a plane on the Hudson River after a flock of geese flew into the engine. None of the passengers died during this event. That's why they call it Miracle on the Hudson.
the plane had Canadian geese stuck in the engines so the captain decided to land in the Hudson river and everyone survived
Bill Lishman. The film Fly Away Home was loosely based on his experience.

They are planning to kill THOUSANDS of Canada Geese in New York CITY!! They are going to do this during moulting season when they can't fly. They will trap and kill them. Supposedly, this will keep all plane/bird accidents from ever happening again!! It's supposed to start in a week (from now 6/15/09)http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/stop-nys-goose-gassing-planPlease go to above link to stop this!Canadian geese migrate in abundance during the fall season. They have a familiar "voice" which i always tune into, and i never cease to gaze up in amazement, as they soar above in "V" formation. This very night i went out on my porch. The hour was half past midnight. I heard that distinct trumpeting sound very distant.... i knew they would soon be flying overhead!I guess they just fly whenever the heck they feel like it...?Must be nice to soar above a full moon, and go where the weather is best.God's creatures are survivalists, and Canadian geese are no exception.Man and all his technology knows NOTHING about air traffic control!!praise GOD.....
