Volunteers from many nations later joined in the struggle on both sides including groups of Irish, French and Germans with individuals from all over Europe, supporting the Boers. Whilst the Commonwealths of New Zealand, Canada and Australia all contributed towards the British war effort.
It is now estimated that some 30,000 of the indigenous people supported the English and it was fear of the latter that finally brought the war to an end!
