Peter the Great was an interesting man. He travelled around Europe and visited the capitals of Europe. Russia was an enclosed country with no sea access and he decided to grow and become part of the European community and to be able to trade they needed a water route. He wanted Russia to be a great nation so created a navy, reorganized the army to wester standards, sought to have more control over the church, made schools secular, and introduced new administration and territories divisions of the country. He overcame opposition from the medieval aristocracy to the reforms he was doing within the country. He recruited experts to educate his people about technological advancements and he developed a larger commerce and industrial growth. Peter modernized the calendar and established the first Russian newspaper. Territory was also acquired and he secured access to the Black Sea by defeating the Swedish army for the land that became St. Petersburg. In 1712 the city was established and built out of the mud ( look for pictures of the city for your power point. It is a beautiful city with buildings in pastel islands connected by bridges and canals ( yet they don't use the canals like they do in Venice). I have been there and rush hour traffic is the worse I have seen in any country. Peter the Great belt an magnificent palace outside of the city and all of the fountains use gravity to work ( they do still work too). Peter the Great was ahead of his time.

Peter the Great believed that education and trade (modeled on the Western European formula) would transform his country.
He was an absolute ruler meaning that he had complete power over Russia. So he could murder, kill or exile people at will and never get in any trouble for it. This was a way that he showed he had absolute power over his people and Russia.
No, there were no voice actors from Power Rangers that have appeared on Figure It Out.
Peter the Great was the czar of Russia in 1689. He decided to build Russia's first navy and he embarked on a policy of westernization. Westernization is the adaptation of western ideas, technology, and culture. Divine right is the believe that a rulers power to rule came from God.
What is the main source of political power in india?
Peter the Great wanted to centralize royal power in Russia.
Peter H. Odegard has written: 'Political power and social change'
she had great political power.
He ruled from 1682 to 1725.
Centralize their political control over their nations. To centralize means to concentrate. In an effort to concentrate (increase) their power, Louis XIV and Peter the Great carried on wars, did little to support freedom, and longed to extend their borders.
peter the great gained the baltic sea
by the wars ?
If we imagine that the greatest extreme of political power is authoritarianism, then a lesser degree of political power would be a democratically elected leader, who may wield great power, but who also can be voted out of office.
