The illumination lights are replaceable. You will need to remove the dash cluster to gain access to them.
try the fuses under the hood of the car
I had this problem with a '92 Saturn and it was because i blew a fuse. I am not sure which fuse it was as it was about 6 yrs ago, but you should check your fuses and see if any are blown. I know it sounds rediculous that the tail running lights and the dash lights are connected by the same fuse. Sorry I cannot give you a more detailed answer
Found that the 12 volt supply coming from the DRL was dead- pin B2. I jumpered B1 to B2 and now my problem is solved with the following observations: 1. when turning the key to off (i.e. shutting off the engine), the high-beam lights and the dash indication will come one for a second or so before extinquishing; 2. DRL still work as advertised; and 3. normal low and high beam operation.
I've had this problem recently. You need to replace your daytime running lights module. it should be located on the drivers side of the car in just in front of the front tire (it is where it is on the '92)
The only multiple of 92 that equals 92 is 92.
In the convenience center under the drivers side of the dash.
We are going to need to know what engine you have in that 92 S10.

Check the fuse.
If your 92 Toyota Corolla taillights are out, but the dash light and fuse work fine, the bulbs could have burn out. Replace bulbs on each side.
ignition switch under dash will cause preimpted failure if kicked out sequence with key starting rod.
Perception is that you have a serious electrical short somewhere in the dashboard area. Some positive voltage wire is being connected to ground (the chassis) when the dash lights are turned on.

I had the same problem in my 92 and 93. Someone had messed with the ground. I think it was a white wire with a black stripe.
