The "big rip" is a possibility that has been discussed, about the future fate of the Universe - not something that has been confirmed.

After universe ends what will happen?

First, we have no information on whether the universe will end, or if it will continue in perpetuity. It's either one or the other - and yet either answer would be astonishing. Second, we have no idea how the end of the universe might come about, or what the conditions at the end time would be, or if the concept of "after the end of the universe" has any meaning at all. One interesting concept is that of an oscillating universe; a Big Bang of expansion, with gravity overcoming everything in the end and pulling every shred of matter back to itself in a "Big Crunch". This could be the prelude to another "big bang". Each universe would be completely new and unaffected by the last.

Do scientists still believe the universe will collapse in on itself eventually?

No. It's generally believed that the universe has insufficient mass density to slow or halt its expansion (and in fact, there's some evidence that the rate of expansion is actually increasing due to "dark energy", which is a slightly more academically acceptable way of saying "we don't know what").Excellent answer! The Universe (our universe) will probably end in a «Big RIP» or a «Big Freeze» scenario, after the «Dark Era and Photon Age», about 10100 years from now. Please rememer that after the «Dark Era» age, what happens after this is speculative. There could even occur a new «Big Bang», supereons after the «Dark Era».Or else the «String Theory» is correct, and our universe is a «membane», or «Brane», and may collide with another «brane» sooner, creating a new universe, God nows what type of universe would be created...

What is the scientific big chill theory?

The big chill theory consists of the universe being chilled at the beginning of it, and at the end of it, due to the lack of suns and heat matter.

Is it possible to survive the end of the universe?

The universe doesn't have a certain amount. It goes on and on. its like a 8. if you look at it closley, and put it on its side, it will be called a infinity. It means that it NEVER has an end. One there is a stop in the universe, there has to be somthing behind it.

Is the universe a big land form?

nobody knows but the size of the universe has been found out...

What would the big rip do to a black hole?

It would rip it to shreds like the rest of the universe.

What actually is the big rip theory?

The Big Rip is one of the hypotheses for the end of the Universe. It has been observed that the expansion of the Universe is actually accelerating rather than slowing down. Based on this some scientists think the Universe will expand so fast that the fundamental forces, including gravity, will be overwhelmed and everything in the Universe will be "ripped apart". In other words, matter will disintegrate, and even spacetime may be destroyed, causing the Universe to cease to exist altogether. The Big Rip would not happen in an instant. Rather as the Universe expands it will go through a process of disintegration in which every stucture, from the largest galaxies to the smallest subatomic particles, will break down. The fate of the Universe depends on whether gravity or dark energy will win the "war". In the Big Rip hypothesis, dark energy accelerates the expansion of the Universe and overcomes gravity. If gravity "won" the opposite of the Big Rip would occur: the Big Crunch.

Will there be a new Big Bang when our universe ends?

No, the universe is ever expanding and has no limit to which it can end.

Will are universe end?

It depends on the theory you follow. The big bang theory talks of a universe with an end like the big rip. It even talks of the big crunch where the universes mass gets so massive that the force of the explosion can no longer push atoms appart and instead the gravitational force of the universe gets so strong it pulls itself back together into a point of infinite smallness that has no dimensional value or any time-space or physical rules. Steady state theories and the sting and the m-theory speak of a universe where it had no beginning, so therefore it will have no climax/middle, and it will have no end because it does not exist.

If the big bang did rip the universe why are'nt we being sucked in it like a black hole does?

Because it didn't rip the universe, obviously. The theory of black holes state that as a star collapses in on it's self all of it's matter is around the size of a baseball, all of the stars mass into that small of space rip's the very fabric of the universe forming a black hole. My question was if a black hole can rip the very fabric of the universe and it's only the mass of the star host then why did'nt the big bang if everything we have ever known or seen was the size of a baseball? Well, technically, the big bang has infinate mass, and since there was nothing really to compare it to, it was the size of everything, and nothing. If the big bang was a black hole, and if it ripped the universe, then the universe would have imploded upon itself before it was even created.

How do you rip a hole in the universe?

You don't because your hands are not big enough and you don't have access to control over the processes involved.

What similarity is there between the big chill theory and the big rip theory?

There is a small similarity in that they both theorise the Universe will continue to expand. The outcome, is where they differ. In the big freeze theory, the Universe just continues to expand until all matter is used up and becomes a lifeless and very cold place. In the Big Rip theory, the Universe itself is actually ripped apart. All bound objects are pulled apart. See related links for more information.

Does the universe ever end?

There are some theorys like the big crunch when the universe turns back to its normal state when it is smaller than a atom. Also the big rip when everything heats up and explodes. Finally the big freeze when all the stars will die out because the universe keeps expanding. Note: The consideration for whether our universewill truely end depends on one's determination of what the universe means to them. It could be said that the universe is endless because its very determination is built upon the evolving consideration of a reality within the dimensional degrees of SpaceTime convergence. It might be stated that our perspective of universal reality is bounded by our fourth dimensional frame of reference for existence within this SpaceTime continuum. In this sense of existence, it might be stated that our universe is not infinite; for outside this fourth dimensional abstraction of the SpaceTime continuum, our reality of existence has no meaning. Yet within the consideration of our traditional fourth dimensional existence, scientists agree that the Theories of Relativity and Special Relativity bound our universal reality with a definable SpaceTime continumm. By virtue of these theories, expectations are extrapolated. One such expectation is that once the universe was once created by the Big Bang, the universe will end in a Big Crunch. Another expectation is that once the universe was once created by the Big Bang, the universe will end in a Big Rip. Therefore, by virtue of these theories, our universe within this fourth dimensional abstraction, will eventually evolve beyond its current dimensional limitations. And, as stated before, outside this fourth dimensional abstraction for our SpaceTime continuum, our reality of existence has no meaning.

Does time have an end - What about the universe?

The two questions are somewhat related in the sense that if the universe ends, whether time still has any meaning or not poses an interesting philosophical problem. So: does the universe have an end?It depends on what you believe. Many religions do have as an article of faith that the universe will one day end (possibly to be replaced by something else).Scientifically speaking... who knows. There's not any real reason to believe it will, though there are reasons to believe that everything in it may (specifically, the possibility of proton decay and the Big Rip theory).

If a black hole rips the very fabric of the universe then why did'nt the big bang rip it as well Or did it?

a black hole is onlya colapsed nuetron star, not a rip in the universe you idiot. im only twelve and i know that. havent you heard of wikipedia, or google, or ask.com i mean seriously.

End of universe in the light of Islam and science?

In Islam, the end of the universe is believed to occur on the Day of Judgment, when Allah will bring about the end of all creation. This event is described in the Quran and Hadiths, and it involves various signs and events leading to the resurrection of all beings for their ultimate judgment. From a scientific perspective, the end of the universe is theorized to happen in different ways, such as the Big Freeze or Big Rip, but these theories are still speculative and not definitive.
