Don't be so frugal a Dipstick to fit can be purchased at a number of different places. Examples [http://buy.autopartsreplacement.com/brand.php?make_text=gmc&model_text=van_full_size&ml=g250-vandura-004&year=1989&part_name=engine_dip_stick&my=1 Buy Me] An open or ill fitting Dipstick in the tube is an invite to suck dust & water into your engine oil. I looked in the Haynes manual... lists oil & filter change capacity as 5 qts. I will change the oil & filter, add 5 qts on level ground and insert a long rod or wire into the dipstick tube til it bottoms. Then remove it carefully and check the oil level on it. Cut it shorter so only about an inch dips into the oil, make a top cap somehow (or just hook the wire) and scribe my normal oil level onto the wire. Sounds pretty good...
Add 2 quarts of Honda 4stroke motor oil then check the level @ dipstick and adjust accordingly. Good luck & don't forget to change the oil filter.
Start with five quarts and then check the dipstick. Add a quarter quart at a time til the dipstick reads full. Seems to me that if you have to be told this you should be taking your jeep to the instant oil change place and letting the high school dumbasses do your oil change. Just my opinion of course.......

no Dipsticks should not affect the startup of the car. You may need to change your spark plugs, or in certain cirtumstances, change your starter motor which is not so expensive.
Take it in for an oil change, when you don't make it to the garage you'll know the oil drain plug was missing. Seriously, check the dipstick, if it shows no oil crawl underneath and look for a hole at the bottom of the flat pan under the engine.
With engine oil filter change ( 5 quarts / 4.7 liters of engine oil ) but use the dipstick to determine the required amount of oil
The 1992 Buick Regal transmission has a fluid capacity of 6.3 quarts. You can check the transmission fluid level with the transmission dipstick.

With filter change - 5 U.S. quarts / 4.7 liters ( it will be slightly above the XXXXX "d area on the dipstick - that's normal )
on my 1989 vandura, the interior lights are on two different switches - the horn/DM fuse will turn on the front dome light and the rear light if that's what your looking for.....
You need about 4 quarts for an oil change if you also replace the oil filter. Begin with 3 quarts and then add oil up to the upper dipstick level.
Only if you change the whole set, there will be a height difference.
The 3.0 Jaguar engine holds between 4.5 and 5 quarts during an oil change. Add a little less, then keep adding to fill depending on the dipstick reading.
