The code in the Glove box is just the serial number to the stereo, It is not the unlock code itself. Call a Honda dealer and give them this number. They should give you the code for free. They did for me.
If you can't find the code listed anywhere in your owner's manual then you will need to get the serial # off the radio. With this # and proof of ownership, any Honda dealer can supply you with the code. You will have to remove the radio in order the get the code. If you know who the selling dealer is, I would check with them before doing anything. They may have the code on file somewhere. Otherwise, it's not really difficult to remove the radio yourself, obtain the radio serial number and you can then get the code online from Honda. It took me me about an hour, with a Philips screw driver on a 97 Accord

3) Go to the following Honda website https://radio-navicode.honda.com
Enter the information below and you can immediately obtain the code at no charge.
a) Vehicle VIN number
b) Radio serial number
c) Your phone number and ZIP code matching those on file with Honda customer service. If your not the original owner but have had the car serviced at a Honda Dealership, then the files were most likely updated at that time as they were in my case.
