The two closest mentors to Bob Marley in trench town from the time he walked into the area were Ricardo scott( Ras Cardo), and Junior Braithwaite. They were also the ones who passed the reggae musical torch to him when he told them about his plans to start his own group since they were moving on to do other things. Ras Cardo went to school due to his parents insistence, and Later Junior went to live with his father in Chicago. It is important to remember that Cardo did not leave the music scene, but only took a more backseat role with the group.

One must also keep in mind that there were many others who later surrounded Bob and his group rehearsals with Bunny and Peter. It was a close knit community at the time. Lots of love. Ras Cardo has the detailed history of everyone who was there. This would be too much to mention at this time.
