first do you have no eng heat low operating temp or no heat in side the cab? no eng or low eng heat repalce the thermostat no cab heat first check the hoses to the fire wall right side of eng (passenger side) check both hoses if one is hot and the other is not is a stopped up heater core flush with garden hose and try again if nether is hot or this did not fix it the impeler is probably worn off the water pump replace it if both are hot but no heat the heater box has a vaccum hose off or a door broken

The heat shields on the Cherokee models are needed. The floor pans in the Cherokee models are thin and are penetrated by heat very easily. If you have driven one much, you will notice that the drivers and passengers front floor pans get quite warm from the engine heat. This is true with the muffler also. If it is not shielded the floor will get really hot and penetrate into the cab.
This is the opposite of the most common fail mode for the GC. Usually the problem is no heat. However, the switch between heat and AC is controlled by the blend doors and they can break and fall into the wrong place blocking AC. More information is needed. The source of heat for the system is water/coolant from the radiator circulating through a heater core under the dash. Without the engine running and water circulating, there won't be any heat in the passenger compartment. There is residual heat after turning the engine off, but that won't last long. If the blower fan does not shut off, the resistor has failed.

The blender doors could be a possiblility. Jeep Grand Cherokees have a faulty blender door that breaks easily and doesn't distribute heat evenly, therefore, causing basically no heat. The cost can be very high, since the dash has to be taken apart. Approx. $800.00

The 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee driver's seat heat fuse is located under the dashboard in the fuse panel. There is a secondary fuse panel located in the engine compartment as well.
If you have no heat in your 02 grand Cherokee limited blower works heater lines are hot good circulation just no heat comes out?Maybe blocked heater core.
