What is setting for lime pellets with the Scotts Standard Broadcast Spreader?

When setting the Scotts Standard Broadcast Spreader for lime pellets, it is important to refer to the manufacturer's recommendations for the specific product being used. Depending on how much lime you wish to spread on your lawn or garden, the setting will vary. To achieve an application rate of 1.75 lbs. per 1000 square feet a setting of 3 is used. An application rate of 2.25 lbs. for the same area requires a setting of 3.5 and 3.5 lbs. per 1000 square feet can be reached with a setting of 4.

While it is not exact these settings will provide a general guide when applying powdered or pelletized lime using most Scotts Spreaders. Please note we always suggest testing the pH level prior to an application of lime, to ensure that it would be reuqired and it takes roughly 40#-50# per 1,000 sq ft of lime to change the pH of the soil 1 level. and it can take up to 6 months for the change to occur in the soil.
